Prof. Jiri Mareda
After obtaining PhD in physical organic chemistry at the University of Geneva, Jiri worked as the research associate at the University of Pittsburgh, where he fully specialized in computational and theoretical chemistry. He was then teaching for more than 28 years organic chemistry to chemistry, pharmacy, and biology students at the University of Geneva. He was also giving advanced physical-organic courses for master and doctoral students at the Chemistry department.

His research area is in the field of bio-organic chemistry concentrating on the modeling of bio-organic systems with emphasis on the relationship between the structure and function. He also focuses on multifunctional supramolecular assemblies, which are studied by quantum chemistry and molecular mechanics methods, often in collaboration with experimental chemists. The emphasis is also on transmembranal ion transport, sensing and organocatalysis. His research was published in 100+ papers in leading scientific journals, including Science and Nature.

Jiri now provides an insight at the molecular level to help tackle challenges that Esperare undertakes.
