Dr. Julian Gray MD PhD
Dr. Julian Gray studied medicine at Oxford University and at the University of London. He is member of the Royal College of Physicians where he specialised in the clinical pharmacology and neurology. Medical Expert in Central Nervous System (CNS) clinical research in the pharmaceutical industry, he led clinical studies of different compounds in dementia and Parkinson's disease. Then as Head of Alzheimer clinical research at Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel, he also conducted large scale clinical trials on symptomatic and disease modifying drugs. Since 2004 he has worked as an independent consultant in CNS drug development. He was centrally involved in the in-licensing of new medicine, Orphan indication process, and subsequent approval in Europe and USA. He worked as medical advisor to Santhera Pharmaceuticals on the development of idebenone in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Dr. Gray holds the title of Specialist in Pharmaceutical Medicine (Switzerland).
Dr. Gray supports EspeRare in all medical aspects of EspeRare projects. In addition he advises on development strategy and assists where needed in interactions with regulatory agencies.
